The Path of the Flood Races consists of a half marathon, 12K and 5K, along the course of the historic 1889 flood (including the Staple Bend Tunnel, as pictured above). 1889 Foundation is pleased to be funding free screenings for peripheral vascular disease! In this common circulatory problem, veins and arteries outside the heart are narrowed, reducing blood flow to your limbs. There is no cure for peripheral vascular disease, but the good news is that if it’s caught early it can be successfully managed.
