The Healthy Kids Running Series is a national non-profit that provides a fun, inclusive, five-week running series for kids aged 2-14 designed to get them active, allow them to experience accomplishment, and lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

Kids are divided into age divisions with a corresponding distance — kids 2-5 run a 50- or 75-yard dash;  grades K-1, a quarter mile; grades 2-3, a half mile; and grades 4-8, a full mile. Kids receive points based on finishing, and series participants get a T-shirt and race bag. Registration is just $35 for the full five-week series, or $10 per race.

1889 Foundation is pleased to sponsor the next series in Johnstown, which runs on Sundays from 4:30-5:30 pm at Highland Regional Park! The next series begins on April 7 and goes through May 12.
