Johnstown, PA – The 1889 Foundation has awarded a $15,000 grant to the Penn Highlands Community College Foundation to support scholarships for students pursuing culinary arts. The funding, provided through the Supporting Scholars Fund, will help expand access to education and hands-on training for aspiring chefs in the region.
The grant coincides with the annual Chef Auction, a signature fundraising event that brings together top local culinary talent in support of student success. This year’s contribution from the 1889 Foundation strengthens the event’s impact and helps build a stronger pipeline of skilled professionals in the region’s growing food and hospitality industry.
