
1889 Foundation has awarded five scholarships to students enrolled in Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Program for Surgical Technology. The students were selected for their excellence in the classroom and in clinical work. Medical Education and Training is a priority goal of 1889 Foundation. Support includes scholarships, continuing education for medical professionals and community health education.
The Conemaugh Program for Surgical Technology, which began in 1966, was one of the first accredited programs in the country. The program has been part of a joint venture with the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown since 1998.
