Time is critical when someone has a cardiac event– the ability to quickly locate an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) can save lives. To facilitate this, 1889 Foundation has funded Cambria County’s implementation of software called PulsePoint, which will log the location of all AEDs in Cambria County.

Through a free, downloadable app, this information will be made available to emergency dispatchers, emergency responders, and anyone trained in CPR, including off-duty emergency response and medical professionals. So when 911 receives a call reporting a cardiac event, the dispatcher will be able to tell the caller exactly where the closest AED is located.
