1889 Foundation is proud of the 2019 recipients of the Marjorie Farabaugh Nurse Practitioner Scholarships! The scholarship fund is named for Marjorie Farabaugh, the region’s first family nurse practitioner. A Carrolltown native who spent much of her career serving rural Cambria County, Farabaugh paved the way for future nurse practitioners, who increasingly fill the critical need for primary care providers in rural areas.

Brittany Lindahl (third from left) completed her Master of Science Degree in Nursing in December 2018 as a family nurse practitioner. She is employed at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Brianna Mulhern (second from left) will complete her Master of Science Nursing Degree as a family nurse practitioner in June 2019. She is attending Chamberlain College of Nursing.

The scholarship recipients were honored at a Laurel Highlands Nurse Practitioners dinner at the Holiday Inn on Feb. 22.
