The Path of the Flood Historic Races are a half-marathon, 12K, and 5K that follow the path of the 1889 Johnstown flood, beginning at the dam that failed and finishing at Peoples Natural Gas Park in downtown Johnstown. The races are for all ages, but 1889 Foundation is proud to sponsor free youth registrations for kids 17 and under for all three races, which are set for May 25 of this year.

The races are presented by the Johnstown Area Heritage Association (JAHA) and the Cambria County Conservation & Recreation Authority (CCCRA). Due to increased participation, there is a cap of 500 runners for the half marathon, and a cap of 500 for the 5K — so be sure to register early! All pre-registered runners will receive a high-quality t-shirt, commemorative pint glass, and finisher’s medal. Registrations are due by May 10.

Much more information, as well as a link to online registration, is available here.
